Creative Counselling

Play and Creative Arts Therapy uses various play and creative methods in directive and non-directive ways, to enable children to express themselves, and gain an understanding of their challenges and won solutions.

Individual Play  and Creative Arts Therapy sessions last for 45 minutes and start by taking place weekly. The sessions may continue as short or long-term support, depending on the need of your child, and this is discussed along with the child and parents to find the best fit for your family.

Creative Counselling uses art and creativity alongside discussion, to enable adolescents to make sense of their emotions and circumstances. Going further than just talking, Creative Counselling can help make visual connections and comparisons between thought processes, and help an adolescent discover the solutions that feel most comfortable to them. â€‹

Family Together

Child Parent Relationship Therapy

Parents who enrol in Child-Parent Relationship Therapy will gain insights into their family interactions in order to develop strong and effective family bonds. The 10 week course has been developed to allow time for learning techniques, and for reflection on how these techniques have worked. â€‹

Child Parent Relationship Therapy sessions are attended by one or both parents, and follow a parenting support plan created by Garry Landreth. It can also be done in groups alongside other parents.

AutPlay Therapy

Families who follow AutPlay Therapy sessions for neurodivergent children, will benefit from both a child's individual play therapy sessions, and family sessions, where parents are supported to strengthen family dynamics for the benefit of the family as a whole. â€‹

AutPlay sessions are attended by both the parent and child, where the parent is supported to develop skills regularly used in Play Therapy with their child at home. Sessions start on a weekly basis and the duration is decided by parents and the therapist together.

Parental Meetings

Parents are a very important part of the therapeutic process for children, and I offer regular review appointments to discuss progress made, and ideas for the future. These can be suggested as and when it seems necessary on both sides.

These are charged at the same rate as child sessions.

As part of continued parental involvement, it may also be important for parents to be supported in addition to their child, in a way that can further enhance the child's individual sessions. These will be offered according to individual needs and the cost may vary according to content.
